No speech input when screen is off

I wrote a flow that speaks incoming sms_text and sends my reply, when my blue tooth is connected. It works flawlessly when the display is on but when the display is off, it reads aloud the incoming text but the voice prompt gets stuck behind
the dark screen and the flow halts and just waits for the next time the home screen comes up to continue. Even if it's two days later.
Since I use it when I'm driving, it's an issue. Any ideas?

Try to have only action Vibrate after the trigger to see if problem is in the trigger or Speech output. Do you use Notification on statusbar displayed?
