Keeping track of flows, shortcuts, etc

Post by Econdoc » 23 Mar 2017 13:37

I am still somewhat of a newbie at AM, but getting better. I find that I have a large collections of flows which call other flows or have multiple triggers. What I am having real trouble with is keeping track of the relationships (and inter-relationships). Have you AM veterans found a method of documenting your creations? Microsoft Word? Excel?
I would appreciate some organizational tips.
Thanks,
John

Hi,

Adding documentation to the flows is not supported right now. You could add an action like 'Notification on Screen' to a flow, remove the connection so that this action is not executed and then edit the name of the action to add short description to a flow.
Grouping related flows in meaningful flow groups helps to organize the flows when you have a lot of flows. Sometimes it's also helpful to introduce a naming scheme for flows, for example by prefixing the flow names with a category or a number. Automagic sorts the flows within a flow group alphabetically so forcing a certain order can be helpful.

Martin
