"Login Attempt" doesn't recognize failed fingerprints

Post by Christofer » 27 May 2017 15:12

The trigger "Login Attempt" doesn't seem to be able to recognize failed logins from the fingerprint sensor. A bug, or just something I missed?

Hi,

You are right, I was not aware of this limitation yet. Maybe Android does not count fingerprints to the failed attempts to avoid that device administrators wipe the device after a few failed attempts which could happen quite easily when the device is in the pocket.
It seems that there's no way to detect the failed fingerprint attempt with the current API of Android.

Martin

Ah, too bad. Let's hope Android will get that implemented in the not too distant future.
